Titanic DNA

Romain Jerome is a talented and renowned watch maker based in Geneva, Switzerland. The Titanic DNA promises to be the first collection of watches made in tribute to a historical event. There has been no release as yet on what the next theme or event will be.

In (early) commemoration of the 100 year anniversary of the sinking of the Titanic in 1912, Jerome is releasing 2012 luxury timepieces known as Titanic DNA.

The DNA in the Titanic DNA name refers to the salvaged steel from the Titanic wreckage that was used in making the watches. The watch pictured to the right is the model that uses rusted steel from the Titanic as the bezel. The other element used from the Titanic is recovered coal. The coal (in addition to other materials) gives the dial its black color. The shape of the minute and hour hands are made in the likeness of the anchor from the famed ship.
