Canon Digital Camera EOS 5D

Canon EOS 5D

Canon does cameras and they do them well. Their reputation makes it easier to spend a high-amount on a quality camera because you know it is going to perform as advertised.

The Canon EOS 5D has a lot of bells and whistles - more than you would need for an entry level camera. But if you are looking for a model that will last and grow with you as a digital photographer this will do the trick.

With 12.8 megapixels, the photographs you take will be vivid and detailed. And with the ability to take up to 60 jpeg images in quick succession (at 3 frames per second) by holding down the shutter button the chances are slim you will miss the perfect shot.

For the die-hard 35 mm fans, this camera is a Digital Single-Lens Reflex (DSLR) model. What this means in layman's terms is the camera is true to the workings of a 35 mm camera (optically and mechanically) except the film is replaced with a Charged-Couple Device (CCD).

This full-frame camera is not as bulky as its counterparts from other manufacturers and is lighter too. A benefit because you are not going to want to go anywhere without bringing it along once you see the pictures you can take.

Use the tradiional viewfinder or the large 2.5" LCD screen to take your pictures. The screen can be viewed at angles of up to 170 degrees, and if you have owned another digital camera before you know that as soon as you start to move the camera around (especially outdoors) the screen is rendered unusable. This scores big points for the 5D as you will not run into this problem.
