An Overview of the Vertu Phone

Nokia is the parent company of Vertu - the first makers of a truly luxurious cellular phone. Celebrities buy them and others wish they could afford them. The cost to own a Vertu can top out at $90,000 USD for the top of the line model.

Only 200 phones with the $90,000 USD price tag will be made. The unit is embellished with eight carats worth of diamonds and a platinum body. It will only be sold in select jewelry stores. The biggest complaint that can be read about the top of the line Vertu is the lack of features it comes with, most notably no camera.

Buyers will have to choose between 18 carat white or yellow gold and whether or not the would like the baguette keys (a 198 grams with the diamonds). A platinum solitaire is optional weighing in at 210 grams.

A $90,000 phone is not for everyone even if you are rich and famous. Vertu makes more lines that are lower in price ($3500-$27,000 USD). They do not come with the diamonds but are available ourside of jewelry stores and are not adorned with diamonds.

The Constellation Collection comes with a leather backing in color choices of pink, tan, black, and dark brown. The black and dark brown can also be purchased with rose gold (black only) and gold, all the leather choices come in polished stainless steel. The keys are made of ceramic.

The backplate of the Signature line of phones is a mixture of titanium and quality ceramic. There are six material and color options available:

• Duo stainless steel

The Ascent phone line is the most affordable offering Vertu has. It comes in stainless steel and the choice of five different leather accent colors: black, brown, red, azure, and orange.

The features for all four phone lines are relatively the same with minor differences found in the technical specifications for each.
